Bushkill Riding Stables
Allow approximately 14–16 minutes by car from our homes. Trade the car for a saddle and explore the woods on a guided horseback ride. A memorable way to spend part of your mountain escape. Contact the stables before you go to confirm availability and rider requirements. Closed-toe shoes are a good starting point.
Pocono TreeVentures
Allow approximately 15–17 minutes by car from our homes. Take your adventure into the treetops with an aerial ropes course. A change of perspective for the adventurous members of your group. Confirm operating dates, reservations, and age or height requirements directly with the operator.
Pocono Zip Racer
Allow approximately 15–17 minutes by car from our homes, at the same Fernwood adventure site as TreeVentures. Experience the thrill of Pocono Zip Racer's 1,000-foot dual racing zip lines situated in the scenic Pocono Mountains of Bushkill as you soar through the air at speeds exceeding 35 miles per hour, without requiring any special skills. This exhilarating adventure is enjoyable and exciting, and the zip lines are accessible throughout the year, subject to weather conditions.
Bushkill Falls
Allow approximately 21–23 minutes by car from our homes. Wooden bridges, woodland trails, and the sound of falling water. Make a little room in your getaway for one of the Poconos’ most memorable walks. Wear shoes with good grip and choose a trail that suits your group. Check seasonal opening dates before heading out.
Pocono Hills Golf Course
Allow approximately 14–16 minutes by car from our homes, on Golf Drive beside Bushkill Riding Stables. Pocono Hills Golf Course's Par 71, 18-hole resort course features sprawling fairways that entice golfers of all levels. The course offers a golf shop, practice hole, and convenient tee times. Additionally, players of all skill levels can be accommodated, with dedicated ladies', men's, and championship tees available. Whether you are a seasoned golfer or a beginner, Pocono Hills Golf Course provides an enjoyable experience with its picturesque scenery, challenging layout, and expertly maintained greens.
White Lightning Snowtubing
Allow approximately 14–16 minutes by car from our homes, on the Fernwood resort campus. Indulge in the exhilarating experience of snow tubing in the Pocono Mountains at White Lightning Snow Tubing. No need to worry about the weather, as White Lightning produces its own snow to ensure that tubing is available from late December through March, weather permitting. Participants must be at least four years of age to enjoy the ride down the snow-covered slopes. Located in the heart of the Pocono Mountains, White Lightning Snow Tubing offers a thrilling adventure for families, groups, and individuals seeking an unforgettable winter experience.
Blue Lightning Tubing
Allow approximately 14–16 minutes by car from our homes, on the Fernwood resort campus. Blue Lightning all-season tubing provides the opportunity to experience the thrill of snow tubing throughout the year. As the only all-season tubing facility in the Pocono Mountains, it features a Magic Carpet lift and two 400-foot tubing lanes. To begin tubing, simply ride to the top on the lift and sit on the tube to glide down the specially designed runs that do not require snow or water. Group rates are available for 12 or more participants, and single tubes are provided to all riders. Please note that all participants must be at least four years old and 40" tall to ride.
Shawnee Mountain Ski Area
Allow approximately 23–25 minutes by car from our homes. Make a day of skiing, snowboarding, or snow tubing, then come home for a soak in the hot tub. Shawnee is a nearby mountain option for your winter getaway. Reserve lessons and rentals ahead of a winter weekend, and check the snow report before leaving the house.
Destination Earth Paintball
Allow approximately 14–16 minutes by car from our homes, on the Fernwood resort campus. Destination Earth Paintball in East Stroudsburg is the ultimate destination for paintball enthusiasts. With over 80 acres of pristine woodland, this paintball facility offers a thrilling and adrenaline-pumping experience for players of all levels. Equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and featuring a variety of challenging terrain, including hills, trenches, and bunkers, Destination Earth Paintball provides an exciting and unique way to spend the day with friends or family.
Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area
Allow approximately 32–34 minutes by car from our homes, to the park's Smithfield Beach river access. Explore the natural wonders of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area and discover a vast array of plants and wildlife that call this 70,000-acre park their home. Immerse yourself in the beauty of the Appalachian Mountains as you hike the trails and enjoy the scenic views of the Delaware River. The area is also a haven for birdwatchers, with the chance to spot the majestic American Bald Eagles soaring through the skies. Raymondskill Falls
Allow approximately 49–51 minutes by car from our homes. Pennsylvania’s tallest waterfall, tumbling in three tiers through a hemlock ravine in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. Short trails lead to the upper and lower viewing platforms. The trail is short but steep in places, so wear proper shoes. The pool below the lower falls is closed to swimming in season; check the park’s conditions page before you go.
Adventure Sports
Allow approximately 26–28 minutes by car from our homes. See the Delaware Water Gap from the water. Choose a canoe, kayak, or raft outing and make the river the setting for your day together. Camelback Mountain Ski Resort
Allow approximately 55–57 minutes by car from our homes. A mountain day with plenty of possibilities: winter skiing and tubing, or warm-weather adventures at the resort. Choose your season and make a day of it. Book the specific activity you want and follow its parking instructions. Different resort attractions have different entrances.

Pocono Snake & Animal Farm
Allow approximately 27–29 minutes by car from our homes. A small animal attraction with plenty to catch a curious child’s eye. Reptiles, goats, and other animals make this an easy stop to fit into a family outing. Allow about an hour and check current opening information. Use only the venue’s approved feed for animal encounters.
Pocono Go-Karts and Play Park
Allow approximately 22–24 minutes by car from our homes. A little friendly competition belongs on vacation. Outdoor go-karts, kiddie karts, and miniature golf give your group a few ways to play together. Check seasonal hours and the requirements for each ride before setting off. Skylanes Bowling Center
Allow approximately 32–34 minutes by car from our homes. A friendly little competition makes a great rainy-day plan. Gather your group for a few frames in East Stroudsburg. Call ahead for lane availability, particularly on weekends or when leagues are playing.
Pocolandia
Allow approximately 41–43 minutes by car from our homes. An indoor play kingdom inside the Stroud Mall: bouncy houses, an indoor playground and room to run for younger children. A good answer to a rainy morning. Hours change by season and the park closes some weekdays, so check the calendar before you drive over. Socks are usually required on the play equipment.
Klues Escape Room
Allow approximately 36–38 minutes by car from our homes. Turn a rainy afternoon into a shared adventure. Work through clues and puzzles in a private themed escape room in downtown Stroudsburg. Reserve your preferred room and check the recommended ages and group size. Leave time to park before your booking.
Trap Door Escape Room
Allow approximately 47–49 minutes by car from our homes. Trap Door’s Poconos home is Wonderland Madhouse at The Crossings Premium Outlets: multi-room escape adventures with live actors, themed zones and a cocktail bar for the grown-ups. Experiences run on fixed time slots with minimum group sizes, so book ahead. The outlets make it easy to pair with an afternoon of shopping.
Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark
Allow approximately 53–55 minutes by car from our homes. A splash-filled escape at Camelback with indoor slides and water attractions. Keep this one in mind when the forecast calls for a little indoor fun. Check day-pass availability and attraction height requirements before booking. Pack swimwear and a change of clothes.
Land of Make Believe
Allow approximately 54–56 minutes by car from our homes. Make a day of rides, splashes, and childhood memories at this seasonal amusement and water park in nearby New Jersey. Kalahari Waterpark & Resort

Allow approximately 14–16 minutes by car from our homes, on the Fernwood resort campus. The Warehouse Tavern & Grill is a popular restaurant on the Fernwood resort campus in Bushkill. Hand-crafted beer and cocktails on a working farm south of the Water Gap in Bangor, with indoor and outdoor seating, live music and a kitchen open on Friday and Saturday evenings. Open Thursday to Sunday only; reserve for the Friday and Saturday dinner service. No outside food or drink, and it is an hour’s drive, so make an afternoon of it.
